In Mexico, social classes determine the amount and quality of schooling. Rich families send their children to private schools, while poorer families have their children work. However, the government has started to encourage school, and every child must graduate at least sixth grade. Unfortunately, children still need to work to have enough money for their family to survive
This is a typical Mexican High School
the week. Most children finish at least sixth grade, before dropping out to work for their families.
College in Mexico
Elementary school or escuela teaches first through sixth graders, and they learn things similar to the U.S. The middle school or secundaria teaches seventh through ninth graders, and they teach more specific subjects . High school or bachillerato teaches tenth through twelfth graders and allows them to learn specific subjects, just like in the U.S. College then follows just like the U.S education system. Most college students in Mexico choose to learn more about law and business in Mexico, followed by sciences and mathematics.
Unfortunately, having a higher education does not mean that you will get a better paying job in Mexico, which is a problem rampant in Mexico. This means that many people in Mexico do not got to college since it does not promise a job.
